The Founding of Area Broker Consulting

Founded in 2007, Area Broker Consulting Srl began as the natural evolution of the previous experience of its President and CEO, Stefano Sidoli. He invested the professional expertise he had accrued over the years in a firm organised according to his ideas and principles.

His desire was to create a business that was an expression of its local community, one that had a close relationship with its clientele, and was able to offer innovative solutions suitable for businesses of all sizes, including ones with manufacturing and commercial operations abroad.

Thanks to its management’s skills, the company grew rapidly, first locally and then throughout the region. In 2014 it opened its first branch office – the San Giovanni in Marignano branch in Rimini, an achievement which marked the start of the firm’s expansion across Emilia-Romagna. That same year, the business felt the need to consolidate its organisation by defining its roles and procedures. This delicate task was entrusted to Michele Anzalone, who has been applying his professionalism and his thirty years’ worth of experience in the sector to his role as Director General from the time he joined the company to the present.

With new management at the helm, in 2015 the company appointed its first Board of Directors. The strategies and commercial policy pursued led to the opening of a branch office in Parma, one of the richest, most prosperous and industrialised cities in the area of Emilia.

Merger with QZ

The truly significant increase in the firm’s size, however, came with its business combination with QZ Srl, an important and historic Bologna insurance brokerage firm, founded and managed by Maurizio Quattrocchi, our firm’s current Vice President.

The union of the two brands led, in 2017, to the creation of AREA BROKER & QZ Consulting , which chose Bologna, located along the Via Emilia, to host its headquarters and strategic branch office. The history, values and expertise of two firms melded together, strengthening the business as a whole.

Area Broker & QZ, a firm in constant evolution

With the opening of its Piacenza Branch Office in October 2018, Area Broker & QZ affirmed and strengthened its bond with local businesses and broadened its prospects, with an ever greater focus on areas beyond its region’s borders. Over the years, the firm has established strategic partnerships. It has joined one of the most important international networks, so as to better support its clients who do business abroad. It has invested in training and in IT infrastructure, acquiring new software for business operation monitoring and process optimisation. It recently was awarded ISO 9001:2015 Quality Certification, a further step towards even better mapping of procedures and responsibilities.
The strategy of AREA BROKER & QZ Consulting is clear: to strengthen our existing leadership position by pursuing further growth, constantly applying a selection criterion based on the quality and professionalism of our people.

Date of foundation

New head office

2009

The Reggio Emilia offices move to the new “Grevill Center” business park on Via N. Copernico.

The organization grows

2012

Expansion of the company’s Reggio Emilia offices.

The Adriatica Branch Office opens

2014

In 2014, the first branch office is opened in San Giovanni in Marignano in Rimini, a strategic location for serving the areas of Romagna and the Marche.

First Board of Directors appointed

2015

With the entry into the organisation of new professionals with consolidated experience in the sector, Area Broker is transformed from an owner-managed company to one run by a management team.

The Parma Branch Office opens

2016

In 2016, a branch office is opened in Parma, another strategic location along the Via Emilia.

Merger with QZ

2017

The acquisition of the Bologna-based firm QZ paves the way for the Group’s consolidation and the appointment of the new Board of Directors.

The Piacenza Branch Office opens

2018

In 2018, a branch office is opened in Piacenza, a strategic location for the area of lower Lombardy
